Stakes (Extrapolating)
Extrapolated notes. Humanities in a Graph×LLM master’s are not cultural varnish: they train critical reading, argumentation, and situating technology in ideas, power, and representation. Empirically, that is the same muscle as reading a paper without being hypnotized by the leaderboard.
Shared M1/M2 page: both index rows link here. Semester content depends on the current humanities offer.
Official units for 2026–2027: the Year 1 lists include about thirty humanities and French-culture options, typically 20 h each. One of them, listed in LLGA 1 – S1, is HSS_51G16_EP — Sociology of AI (N. Wanlin, A. Wirth). These notes frame the thread; they do not cover the content of any single option.
Place in the 2-year path
M1: during the ML/DL foundation — useful so AI is not reduced to loss minimization. M2: alongside Ethical Issues and Novel Applications of AI and LLM/GNN courses: humanities feed the ethics discussion without replacing it.
Industry and research links
Industry: clear writing, framing ambiguous problems, multi-party trade-offs (legal, product, risk). Research: positioning a contribution, honest literature review, sensitivity to corpus and narrative bias.
How to approach it
- Tie each humanities theme to a master’s artifact (model, dataset, agent demo).
- Keep reusable notes for the M2 ethics seminar and internship report.
Extrapolating Shared M1/M2 framing; not an institutional voice.
